Through strategic guidance and financial planning, Jumi Consulting Group helped the MBAD African Bead Museum secure a grant from the Gilbert Family Foundation, which will play an essential role in advancing the project during the predevelopment phase. During the predevelopment phase, Jumi will coordinate the due diligence processes, provide project management services, source a general contractor, draft the proforma, and recommend financiers.
The MBAD African Bead Museum stands as one of Detroit’s most vital cultural landmarks where art transforms space, and space transforms people. The N’Kisi House is an approximately 5,000 square foot building that will be redeveloped as office and multipurpose spaces owned by the MBAD African Bead Museum. The museum's revitalization of this space will reignite a cultural landmark in the city that preserves historical artifacts, celebrates African traditions and heritage, and provides a third space for Detroiters and visitors to enjoy.
